The Love Of Christ

Hey everyone and anyone! Well first off, I couldn't take it anymore, the horrible lack of comfort was too much. The Beard *sigh* is gone. Oh well though.

On a serious matter though. The matter which has given this entry the title "The Love of Christ". It might sound like a redundant phrase to many Christians and Christian-ease Linguists alike, but this week it hit me on a new level.

It seems like when we think of the love of Christ the Atonement, him dying on the cross for our sins, is the first thing that comes to mind. It is for me anyways, and out of all honesty after five years of growing as a Christian I hate to say that I have become calloused in that thought, image or idea. And after I realized that this week I began to understand a lot more about the love of Christ.

First of all, after it was ordained for him to be crucified,Christ pleaded with God to not go to the cross for OUR downfalls and mistakes. In Luke chapter 22, verse 42, Jesus prays that God would "take this cup" from him. That he would make it so that he didn't have to die, or die in the way he would have to. An Angel appeared to strengthen him, and in his deep, deep anguish he continued to pray all the harder. So hard was he praying and such stress he was in, his "sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground". And when I meditate on what this means, when I seek comprehension on this situation, it is a heart felt pain I find. One that puts my life and the decisions I make into perspective. But it is also a pain on more than just an emotional level, a spiritual level too.

Imagine your best friend seeing you about to be killed in the most gruesome way because of the wrongs you've committed. You're standing at the feet of an executioner that wants nothing but to bring you pain, torment and suffering. So much agony actually, that it will lead to your death, instead of just killing you right off the get go. Now imagine your best friend stepping into your place and saying "NO! Take my life instead!" Your friend is put through the most horrible death, as an innocent person, for your wrong doings. For one that is why I will forever PRAISE JESUS, and secondly, that is what Christ did for us. Not willingly, not out of selfish ambission or vain conceit. But out of Love. His Love.

For some this is painful to imagine. But is incredibly sobering to understand. Writing this brings me pain through comprehension, but joy in understanding that Christ Loves me, Loves us. And in a way that is not just emotional, but spiritual.

Thank you for reading this. If you have questions, please e mail me. If you have never understood what it means to have Christ in your Life and Heart, please email me.

Breath of Fresh Air

Thank You Spirit, thank you Father, thank you Son.

What a wonderful night. The presence of the Lord Rained down like warm water from the heavens drenching the worshippers of Grande Prairie. It was a total saturation of Love, Grace, Mercy, Power, and Faithfulness. It was BEAUTIFUL. " For where two or three gather as my followers, I am there among them." Matt 18:20 NLT. God held true to that promise because He came in power!!!! The wonderful thing about the triune God is that He is alive. When we gather to praise and exalt His Name, the heavenlies come down and bless us right back. " Praise takes us out of ourselves and puts us into communion with God." I love this quote, it answers the question of, why do we Praise God? You see so much of my life is to much about me and what I want. But in Praise it is NOT ABOUT ME. It is a very refreshing thing.

Last night was a breath of fresh air, just to bask in the wonder of the Holy One. To listen to the stringed instruments play beautiful melodies, and to hear the voices raise like ten thousand, to hear the beat of the drum announcing that our Savior is coming back some day!! What an intoxicating experience of the love of OUR King. This is just a glimpse into what is in store for us in heaven. Be encouraged, I was.

God bless you through and through, Peter.

Support Mitch's Face Foundation...

Well, I, Mitch Diesel, thought it would be fun to do something new with my face. But I really like the idea of doing something for a cause. Now, some might be thinking "What does this have to do with your face, Mitch, or any 'cause", or even At The Door for that matter??" My answer? EVERYTHING!!! I am going to be growing my facial hair out for the remainder of the time it takes At The Door to finish our Live CD project!! Well at least until my employer tells me I need to shave (that does NOT include you, Mike, you know what I mean... You don't know me...) Sorry... At any case, if the whole beard thing does not work out then I will at least grow my moustache!!!

I know, I know, a lot of you are thinking that this would not be a good endeavor for my social status (Twila *sigh* I'm sorry) but I feel that this is necessary. For one: I have always wanted a moustache and full on beard (or at least as much of one I could grow), secondly: This will be a great way to have the group of all the At The Doorians (anyone who is a part of, or has been in any way involved with this ministry...So that means YOU!!!) to come together and support their little bro (Me). And my third part to this...I THINK MOUSTACHES ARE COOL! Although in a very "un-cool" way...

So, as I said before I will be needing YOUR support, either through emails (fatescores7@hotmail.com) Comments on this Blog, a friendly word on the street, or anything creative that you come up with (send cards and or small gifts to " Support Mitch's Face" c/o Mitch Diesel 11223 96A Street T8vb 2B1 Grande Paririe AB) ...

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future and I will keep you posted on the "growth" of this establishment!!!

The Otherness of God

Well it has been 4 days scince the madness of the recording has been finished. I have spent many hours looking back at the night and how God worked. What a wonderful and Powerful God we serve!! It was a pressured filled night with the prep to record things right. Most Worship teams that do this record 4-5 services so they have more material to chose from and have more leeway to make mistakes. But do to time and finances we had one shoot. Throughout the service I found myself concentrating so much on the task at hand, that maybe I didn't give God enough room to move, yet some how I felt God knew we had stuff we needed to get done. Once we had finished what we had worked so hard at, it seemed that the heavens opened even wider to shower down even more of the presence of God ( could this be happening I asked myself). You see this is the whole point of an ATD gathering. It is a gathering created for people to come and encounter the Holy God of the Heavens, to bask in His Holy Power. His Glory seemed to fill the whole Gaiety Threater from top to bottom. Some people prayed and danced, while others sat still not knowing what to do or just maybe they were enjoying an intimate embrace with their Holy Lover, Jesus Christ. I felt so unprepared to lead what was yet to come. But by the grace of God He lead us to places yet unseen. He took us to places that only He would know how to get to. It was another lesson that I learned yet again, that no amount of preparation on my own part or of the team could we ever conjure up something so beautiful. Praise be to God. As the night continued God taught me a very valuable lesson. He showed me that the songs we sing are here today and gone tomorrow. That other songs will be written and others forgotten, But the "Word of the Lord Stands Forever". You see,He showed me that I can run out of songs and things to say{others disagree} but If I know the Word of God I will never run out of it. As a lead worshipper the greatest tool I have is not knowing a thousand songs, but it is knows the Living Word of God. Through it I know Him better and In it there is amazing power that will never fade away You to everyone that came out. Now let your life be different. Live in the freedom of knowing that you serve the only living God. I know without a doubt that everyone experienced something that words can not explain and that is, The Otherness of God.

WOW isn't God sooo AMAZING

Wow...... what a night... that was so rad the turn out was great... I think there was 200+ people there very cool... but way cooler than that is how God just showed up and touched the hearts of so many people what a success... PRAISE THE LORD... It was cool that we were recording and stuff but to be able to worship so extravagantly with a bunch of people is such an amazing privilige and a huge blessing. We are all totally stoked about what happened lastnight and are very much looking forward to doing again, this wasn't just an event. Thank you so much to everyone who helped out in so many ways and all the prayer support and people who bought t-shirts and thanks to Mike for all the work u put in. Above all we want to thank God for what he has given to us and and he continues to bless us.

Thank you and God bless
